Viessmann 2024

iF Award 2024

We partnered with Viessmann to design the Vitopure line. A family of three air purifiers marking the brand’s entry into residential air purification. Each device features smart environment sensors and connects seamlessly with Viessmann’s digital ecosystem.

Infusing Living Spaces with Viessmann’s Climate Expertise

When designing the Vitopure portfolio, our goal was to carefully fuse Viessmann’s advanced climate technology into living spaces. We focused on creating products that feel like intentional elements of interior design, seamlessly blending cutting-edge innovation with thoughtful, human-centered design.

Designing appliances for architectural integration

The three sizes correspond to different room scales, while the brand’s widely used design element of vertical lamellas underlines the minimalist and architectural design language of the devices.

The form is based on geometric primitives that relate to their built environment. Their simple appearance combined with carefully designed details create a high quality impression that gently blends them with architectural elements. Subtle details like the gentle tapering of the venting lamellas soften the geometry with an inviting touch.

Thoughtfully Designed User Experience

A minimal HMI on top of each device provides clear, essential visual feedback on air quality and quick access to core functions. More advanced control is handled seamlessly via the ViCare app. Integrated air quality sensors continuously monitor and automatically adjust the indoor air quality.

Throughout the design process, we worked hands-on, testing and refining concepts with material samples and prototypes to verify design consistency and well-balanced functionality. This approach led to a product portfolio that meets Viessmann’s high standards for both build quality and visual aesthetics.

An Invitation to Personalize

Based on the archetype of a side table, the form invites users to interact with the device like a piece of furniture. Its flat top, defined by a subtle raised rim, encourages everyday use. A place to set down personal items and, in doing so, personalize the product within the home.
